A Message from our President...

Howdy, Aggie Moms!

I can’t believe we've had our Howdy Party, New Moms’ Welcome, and first monthly General Meeting. We have already had a busy year and we are just getting started!

We've also had several other social events. If you haven’t attended one yet, check out what Aggie Moms Connecting has planned. There is a variety of events planned each month. It is a great opportunity to meet other moms in a smaller setting.

Some of our fundraisers have kicked off! Our biggest fundraiser is Pecans. The shelled pecans we sell are very popular with our loyal customers that buy from us every year. We even continue to sell to customers that have moved out of town! Also popular are the flavored pecans that are ready for gift giving. Ordering details can be found below and on our website. Get those orders in by October 17th!

As a reminder, our fundraisers support students at Texas A&M. We provide money for the scholarships that our club awards and also for an endowed scholarship in our club’s name. We also donate to Texas A&M student organizations. Our club members vote on which student organizations receive money. Each vote represents a share of the donation money so every vote results in a donation!

We have an informative and fun meeting planned for our October General Meeting. Mark your calendars for October 17th and I hope to see you there!

Thanks and Gig ‘Em!

We are off to a great start!

Howdy and a big Aggie sized thank you to our over 300 new and returning members to CCAM!  I want to thank you all for taking the time to visit our website and take care of your dues.  If you’d still like to join us, you can follow the links below to pay your yearly dues.

Today I want to highlight another fun benefit of membership at CCAM—our fun Federation Tailgate!!  The Aggie Moms have secured a fabulous tailgate location in the new Aggie Park and host a wonderful tailgate for each home game.  I was able to pop in and visit before the Miami game and it was so much fun!  They have wonderful food and drinks and all Federation members are welcome to join in the fun.  If you’re not sure—Yes, you are a Federation member when you join our Aggie Mom chapter. If you are going to be attending any of the remaining home games, make a point to stop by before game time—I promise you’ll have a great time.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions about membership or the new website and I look forward to seeing you at some of our upcoming connecting events and the October general meeting!

Thanks and Gig’em!!

In the Spotlight
Introducing...Debbie Duty!

What is your board position and a brief description of what you do for CCAM? I am 2nd VP Projects which means I have oversight for all the fund-raising projects – Boutique, Ornaments, Pecans, Poinsettias, Golf Tournament, Raffle and Rewards.  I have a great group of ladies who chair these activities and make my job easy.  When I joined Aggie Mom’s in 2018, I got involved by volunteering for every committee I could.  Our fundraising is for a great cause – our students and their organizations!   I chaired Poinsettias for 2 years prior to accepting the nomination for VP Projects.

Where do you live?  Plano

Where did you attend college? University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, BS in Computer Science with a minor in Math.

Tell us about your kids:  My Aggies are twin former students!  My girls graduated in May 2022 with a BBA in HR Management and a minor in Spanish (Becca) and a BS in Political Science with minors in Cyber Security and Business (Jess).  Becca is now a “Double Ag” obtaining her Masters in HR Management, while Jess is pursuing her JD at SMU Law School.

What are your hobbies?  Painting, crafting, Bunco, baking, air frying – love trying out new recipes in the air fryer.

What is a good book you've read recently? Currently reading “Get Your Life Back” by John Eldredge.  Loving the simple and sustainable practices for when you are tired, burned out or busy with life to give you rest.

What is your most favorite vacation you've ever taken or favorite place you've traveled to? Favorite trip was to India a few years back. I was skeptical and a bit timid about going.  The trip could not have been more fascinating or rewarding.  Everyone went out of their way to ensure I enjoyed my trip and made me feel welcome.  My colleagues even recorded “Happy Birthday” for my daughters when they found out I was missing their birthday.

What is something most people don't know about you? If I divulged that here then this would not be true any longer. 😊

What is your favorite thing about Texas A&M?  The traditions, the camaraderie, the selfless service – how Aggies help Aggies.

What is some advice you would give a new student at A&M? Be open – to new experiences, people and organizations; it’s a big school but there is something for everyone and you will find your people.

What is some advice you would give a MOM of a new student at A&M? Join Aggie parents FB groups – lots of helpful information sharing; follow KBTX news and Rusty Surette for news in and around College Station, sign up for Aggie Angels and get your Angel to help you navigate all things Aggie.
